Aluminum Foil
Thin aluminum used to cover and wrap food

Baking Dish/Pan
A square or rectangular pan used for baking and cooking food in the oven

Blender
A kitchen appliance used to mix, crush, purée food and other substances

Bundt Pan
A pan with a decorative indented curvature and a hollow tube in the centre

Casserole Dish
A deep pan or bowl used for cooking a variety of dishes in the oven

Corkscrew
A tool used for removing corks from wine bottles or other bottles sealed with corks

Cutting Board
A board on which something is cut on

Double Boiler
A saucepan with a detachable upper compartment heated by boiling water in the lower one

Electric Mixer
A device for mixing ingredients powered by electricity

Garlic Press
A kitchen utensil to crush garlic cloves by forcing them through a grid of small holes

Gravy Boat
A low boat-shaped container with a lip at and a handle used for serving gravies and sauces

Ice Cream Scoop
A kitchen utensil forms ice cream into a slightly rounded or a well-rounded shape

Loaf Pan
A long, deep dish or pan in the form of a loaf in which bread or cake is baked

Ladle
A long-handled spoon with a large cup-shaped bowl, used for serving soup, stew, sauce or certain types of pasta

Measuring Cups
A cup with markings for measuring ingredients when cooking

Meat Tenderizer
A small hammer with teeth on the head to tenderize slabs of meat in preparation for cooking

Microwave Oven
An oven where food is cooked by the heat produced by the absorption of microwave energy

Muffin Tins
A pan with cylindrical indentations used for baking

Oven Mitts
A padded mitten for safely handling hot dishes and pans

Pasta Maker
A machine that rolls out the dough, stretches it and cuts it to size

Pitcher
A large, round container for liquids that has a flat base, a handle, and a very narrow raised opening at the top for pouring

Pizzelle Maker
A kitchen appliance that makes traditional Italian waffle cookies

Pot
A vessel with or without a lid, used to cook food

Pressure Cooker
An airtight pot in which food can be cooked quickly under steam pressure

Ricer
A utensil with small holes which boiled potatoes or soft food can be pressed forming rice shapes

Rolling Pin
A cylindrical preparation utensil used to shape and flatten dough

Saucepans
A deep metal cooking pot with a long handle and a lid

Sifter
A kitchen equipment that flour and sugar go through to break up large pieces

Sous Vide
A method of cooking food, by vacuum-sealing and immersing in warm water

Stove
A large box-shaped device that cooks and heats food, by putting it on the top over a burner

Tongs
A cooking/serving tool with two arms that are joined at one end, to pick up and hold things

Waffle Iron
A kitchen appliance consisting of two shallow metal pans hinged together, used for baking waffles

Wok
A large bowl-shaped cooking utensil used to make stir-fry's

Air Fryer
A convection oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil.

Barbecue
A outdoor cooking appliance used to roast or broil on a rack over heat (hot coals or a gas flame)

Bread Machine
An appliance used for turning raw ingredients into baked bread

Cookie Sheet
A flat metal sheet with one rolled edge used for the baking of cookies or biscuits

Chopsticks
A pair of slender sticks held between thumb and fingers used to lift food to the mouth

Deep Fryer
An electric appliance that heats fat or oil, where food is immersed for frying

Decanter
Glass container used for wine to separate sediment and aerate to enhance aromas and flavors

Dutch Oven
A thick-walled cooking pot with a close-fitting lid, used for pot roasts, stews, soups, and sauces

Frying Pan
A shallow pan with a long handle, used for cooking food in fat or oil

Funnel
Pipe that has a wide top and narrow at the bottom, used for guiding liquid or powder

Griddle
A flat stone or metal surface which food is baked or fried on

Ice Cream Machine
Simultaneously freezes the mixture while churning to aerate the mixture

Knife Block
A block containing long grooves in which kitchen knives can be inserted up to the handle

Macchinetta
Stove-top coffee maker that brews coffee by boiling pressurized water through coffee grounds

Measuring Spoons
a set of spoons used to measure a set amount of ingredients, either liquid or dry, when cooking

Melon Baller
A utensil with a sharp edge used especially for cutting ball-shaped pieces from the pulp of a fruit

Mixing Bowl
A concave bowl with steep sides used for mixing ingredients

Mug
A cylindrical drinking cup typically with a handle

Parfait Glass
A tall narrow glass with a short stem used for serving parfait

Pastry Brush
A small brush made with nylon, rubber, or sterilized natural bristles

A thin, transparent film that adheres to surfaces and to itself as a wrapping or covering for food

A piece of quilted or thick fabric for handling hot dishes and pans

A small glazed ceramic, plastic, stainless steel or glass bowl used for cooking and serving dishes

Rice Cooker
A kitchen appliance designed to cook rice, through boiling or steaming

Rubber Spatula
A utensil for gently scraping out, stirring, blending, mixing and folding contents of without scratching the surface

Serving Spoon
A large spoon used to serve portions of food

Skillet
A flat-bottomed pan with shallow, flared sides that may be slightly curved. Used for searing, roasting and frying foods

Spatula
Used to lift and flip food items during cooking

Thermometer
Used to measure the internal temperature of meat or other foods

A tool that expels air from plastic pouches to preserve food

A baking paper that has been made with wax to make it waterproof or greaseproof

An appliance for extracting juice from fruit or vegetables

Knives
A blade curving upward along its length and ending in a narrow point

Mandoline
A flat surface utensil fitted with a sharp blade, that slices vegetables and fruits quickly, precisely and safely

Meat Cleaver
A large knife that varies in its shape, used for splitting up large pieces of soft bones and thick pieces of meat

Microwave
A cooking appliance in which food is cooked, warmed, or thawed by the heat microwaves

Mortar & Pestle
A mortar is bowl shaped container used the pestle which is a bat shaped tool that is used to grind grains, herbs, etc

Oven
A kitchen appliance with a hollow chamber that provides a means of controlling heat

Paring Knife
A small sharp knife used mainly for peeling/cutting fruits and vegetables

Pie Plate
A round baking dish with shallow slanted sides. The most common sizes being 8, 9 and 10 inch diameters

Pizza Pan
A round metal pan for baking pizza. It has a raised rim, the height of which depends on the thickness of the crust

Plate
A concave mainly flat vessel on which food can be served

Potato Masher
Typically made of stainless steel or nylon used to mash foods

Refrigerator
An appliance or compartment which keep food cool and used to store food and drink

Roasting Pan
A pan used for cooking food with dry heat in an oven. Some have a metal rack to hold meat and allow the juices to fall

Salad Spinner
A kitchen tool used to wash and remove water from salad

Serving Utensils
Used for serving food and drinks. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes depending on the dish

Slow Cooker
An electrical cooking appliance used to simmer food at a lower temperature to cook it

Springform Pan
A round cake pan with a removable bottom held in place by a sprung collar forming the sides

Toaster
An electric appliance to expose various types of sliced bread to heat, browning the bread

Vegetable Peeler
A tool with a slotted metal blade with a sharp edge attached to a handle, used to remove the outer layer of some vegetables

Whisk
A cooking utensil used to blend ingredients smooth to incorporate air into a mixture
