When it comes to easy snacks this one is one of my favourites. Hummus either homemade or store bought is a simple snack that is healthy and delicious. I had never made hummus until I had a massive craving for it when we had none in the house. I did not realize how simple it was to make. It only requires a few ingredients and tastes delicious.

Ingredients:
1 15-ounce can chickpeas, strain and rinse
1 clove garlic, pealed
¼ cup olive oil, plus more for serving
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 Tbsp tahini (sesame seed paste; optional)
1 tsp ground cumin
kosher salt (to taste)
¼ tsp paprika
Directions:
In a food processor (or blender), puree the chickpeas and garlic with the olive oil, lemon juice, tahini (if you want to add it for an extra creamy texture), cumin, and ¾ teaspoon salt until smooth and creamy.
Add 1 to 2 tablespoons water as necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
Transfer to a serving bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with the paprika before serving.
