Tteokkochi is a popular Korean street food made by placing rice cakes on skewers. You either grill or pan fry the skewers until the tteok (Korean rice cakes) are chewy in the centre and crunchy on the exterior. After grilling or pan-frying the rice cakes, you coat them in a slightly sweet base-sauce. These skewers are easy to eat as you walk around, hence why they are such a popular street food!

Ingredients:
25 Tteok (Korean rice cakes)
1 tsp Vegetable oil
1 tsp Sesame seeds (for garnish)
1 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard sauce
Directions:
Blanch the rice cakes in hot boiling water for about 30 seconds to soften them.
Drain the water and run cold tap water on the rice cakes.
Put 3 or 4 rice cakes on each skewer.
Add some vegetable oil in a well heated pan and grill each side of the rice cakes on medium high heat for about 1 minute.
Take them out and place them on a plate.
Mix ketchup and mustard sauce for tteok kkochi sauce.
Brush the sauce on both sides of the rice cakes.
Garnish with sesame seeds and enjoy!
