Christmas Crackle

A perfect treat for the holiday season. Christmas Crackle or "Christmas Crack" is one of the most delicious and addicting treats often made during the holiday season.







Ingredients:

  • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup unsalted butter

  • Toffee bits

  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips








Directions:

  1. Line a 10x12 pan with parchment paper and a sleeve of saltine crackers. Make sure the crackers fill the entire pan without overlapping.

  2. Add the brown sugar and butter to a saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, until the butter melts. Continue to cook, stirring often, for another 3 to 5 minutes, until the mixture comes to a boil and is no longer separated.

  3. Pour the hot brown sugar mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading to coat it thoroughly.

  4. Move the pan to the oven (preheated to 400°F) and bake for 5 minutes

  5. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the brown sugar sauce. Allow to melt for a minute, and then spread to coat completely.

  6. Top with toffee bits.

  7. Place pan in the fridge to cool and harden. Once hardened, break into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!
