A perfect treat for the holiday season. Christmas Crackle or "Christmas Crack" is one of the most delicious and addicting treats often made during the holiday season.
Ingredients:
1 sleeve of saltine crackers
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup unsalted butter
Toffee bits
2 cups milk chocolate chips
Directions:
Line a 10x12 pan with parchment paper and a sleeve of saltine crackers. Make sure the crackers fill the entire pan without overlapping.
Add the brown sugar and butter to a saucepan. Cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, until the butter melts. Continue to cook, stirring often, for another 3 to 5 minutes, until the mixture comes to a boil and is no longer separated.
Pour the hot brown sugar mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading to coat it thoroughly.
Move the pan to the oven (preheated to 400°F) and bake for 5 minutes
Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the brown sugar sauce. Allow to melt for a minute, and then spread to coat completely.
Top with toffee bits.
Place pan in the fridge to cool and harden. Once hardened, break into bite-sized pieces and enjoy!
