Chocolate Peppermint Cookies

Chocolate peppermint cookies make a delicious dessert for any time of the year, especially during the winter holidays when the weather is cold. This sweet treat also goes well with a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of milk!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup butter (melted or softened)

  • ⅞ cup white sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp peppermint extract

  • ½ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 cup flour

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ cup white chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 380˚F

  2. With a spatula, mix the butter and sugar until it creates a paste-like texture.

  3. Add in the egg and peppermint extract and mix.

  4. Add the flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa powder, then mix carefully, so the powder doesn’t fly up!

  5. Add in the white chocolate chips and mix.

  6. Line a flat pan with parchment paper

  7. Roll the dough into balls about 1.5 inches and place the balls 1.5 inches apart on the baking pan

  8. Bake for 9 minutes

  9. When the cookies are ready, take them out of the oven and leave them for 15 minutes to cool down and harden. The cookies will be very hot and soft if you try to move them right away!

  10. Enjoy with milk or a warm cup of hot chocolate!
