An aromatic and delicious dish. This curried chickpea recipe is great as a side or as a main paired with some rice.

Ingredients:
1 can chickpeas
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp cooking oil
2 tsp curry powder (more if desired)
1 Tbsp ketchup
1 tsp hot sauce (more or less)
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
Drain chickpeas, reserving ½ cup of the liquid.
Saute onion and garlic in oil, add curry powder.
Cook gently for 1 minute. Add chickpeas, fry for 5 minutes.
Ass remaining ingredients and reserved liquid, simmer for 15 minutes.
Serve with rice and or meat.
Notes: For saucy chickpeas, cover the pan while simmering for drier chickpeas, simmer uncovered.
