The Green Smoothie

The colour may not look tasty but this smoothie tastes 10x better than it looks. As a morning shake or a quick meal to get out the door, this green smoothie is an quick and delicious recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups baby spinach

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries

  • 2 cups milk, milk alternatives or water depending on diet or preference

  • 1-2 Tbsp of peanut butter or peanut butter alternatives (optional)

  • 1 cup ice

Directions:

  1. Wash the spinach and strawberries and cut off the stems.

  2. In a blender, combine the ice, spinach, strawberries, milk or water, banana, and peanut butter (if desired).

  3. Cover, and blend until smooth.

  4. Pour into glasses or travel mugs and enjoy!

Notes:

Ask an adult for help with:

  • Cutting the fruit

  • Using the blender
